I am studying law at Macquarie University and have spent 10 years building and running self-hosted software systems.

I started Cogent Systems because of two problems: lawyers want the speed of AI but cannot risk a client's confidences on someone else's cloud, and a tool that invents an authority puts a practitioner's name and certificate at risk. The IQ Platform is built to make both problems impossible by design: research footnoted from sources the system actually read, a practitioner's sign-off before anything leaves the firm, and the choice to run everything on the firm's own server.

I set the product's direction and its standards, and I make every decision about what ships. Every change is tested and reviewed before it is released.

Where we are

We are pre-release, with 44 capabilities built and running on our test server with fictitious firms. Invited beta firms come next. See the roadmap for each one.
