LexIQ · Legal research and drafting
Research you can cite. Drafts you can sign.
LexIQ answers legal research questions from the documents your firm loads: its own precedents, opinions and research, and any legislation or cases it adds. Public Australian law joins once the CodexIQ corpus is released. Every proposition is footnoted in AGLC4 and traceable to the page, paragraph or provision it came from.
LexIQ is in alpha. It runs on our test server with fictitious firms and is not yet available to firms. Register for the beta and we will tell you when invited trials open.
How you reach LexIQ. LexIQ is reached through PracticeIQ, the one application you sign in to. LexIQ has no sign-in of its own. PracticeIQ's research, drafts and documents screens are built and run on our test server; they are not yet available to firms.
Capabilities
What LexIQ does.
Each capability is marked with where it stands: built and in alpha testing, in development, or planned.
-
Built, in alpha testing
Cited answers, not guesses
Answers are grounded in sources you can open. Footnotes follow AGLC4 and pinpoint the page, paragraph or section. When the evidence is thin, LexIQ says so instead of inventing authority.
-
Built, in alpha testing
Your own sources
Search your firm's precedents, opinions and research, and the legislation and cases you add, in workspaces that keep each matter's sources apart unless you choose to link them. The curated public-law corpus from CodexIQ is planned.
-
Built, in alpha testing
Answers shaped for practice
Choose a short answer, a research memo, an essay or a problem-question analysis, with IRAC structure and AGLC4 enforced where you want them.
-
Built, in alpha testing
Drafting with sign-off
Turn research into drafts stored against the matter. A practitioner signs off before anything is exported, and a draft can be shared with a reviewer first.
-
Built, in alpha testing
Confidentiality you choose
Each firm chooses a confidentiality level. At the highest level nothing leaves your server: search runs locally, and answers come from a local model once it passes our evaluation (until then that level returns cited passages). Matters can be marked confidential with warn, allow or block rules.
-
In development
Encrypted and accountable
Encrypted backups, per-firm encryption keys for client details (being extended to all client text), an access record no one can edit, retention rules and legal hold, and a cost record for every AI call.
LexIQ is a research aid. It does not give legal advice; practitioners remain responsible for checking authority and for the advice they give.
Who it is for
Built for the people who carry the risk.
LexIQ is the research engine of the IQ platform. PracticeIQ links each matter to LexIQ under the same matter code, CodexIQ is to supply the curated corpus, and AegisIQ watches over the whole platform.
-
Solicitors and barristers
Get to the relevant authority faster, with footnotes you can check before you rely on them.
-
Firms with sensitive work
Decide where your data may go, firm-wide and matter by matter, up to a mode where it never leaves your server.
-
Knowledge and practice leaders
Make the firm's own precedents and research findable, with the source one click away.
Roadmap
Where LexIQ is heading.
Dates are planning targets and can move. "Done" means built and tested by us in development or on our test server; it does not mean generally available. Nothing on this roadmap is generally available yet. Last updated 25 Oct 2026.
